Sustainable Restaurant Holdings, the parent of Bamboo Sushi and QuickFish, filed for bankruptcy in May. The company said it could not survive the coronavirus-related shutdown. It was acquired by investment firm Sortis Holdings in July.

BarFly Ventures LLC, parent company of HopCat, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June. The company was bought out of bankruptcy by Congruent Investment Partners and Main Street Capital in October.

Luxury Dining Group, parent to Fig & Olive, filed for bankruptcy in July. 

Twisted Root filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for three company-owned units in June.

Matchbox Food Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August. The brand was acquired by Thompson Hospitality in November.

Mr. Bing filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and closed all six units in New York City in August.

Blue Star Doughnuts LLC sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August.

Stephen Starr’s Upland filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September. 

Maison Kayser’s parent Cosmoledo LLC declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September. The company was bought by Aurify Brands in November; the new parent company planned to convert the units to Le Pain Quotidien. 

Bruxie reorganized under new owners TCGM Holding Company as L Catterton exited.

By Chloe filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December and went up for sale despite a legal battle. In March, investors agreed to acquire the vegan restaurant chain.
