Nando’s Restaurant Group Inc., the U.S.-based division of the South African flame-grilled peri-peri chicken concept, has opened its first restaurant in Dallas.
The Washington, D.C.-based company had teased the opening with a preview in November. The unit opened in December.
Sepanta Bagherpour, Nando’s chief brand officer, said the Dallas store was the 45th U.S. restaurant. The company has about 35 Nando’s in Canada as well.
Nando’s orders can be placed at the front counter or, preferably, through quick-response codes at the table, and the food is delivered by food runners.
The Dallas Nando’s unit also includes a small bar area and extensive patio seating.
Texas units are also planned for Austin and Katy, according to a spokesperson.
