The Cantina Chicken Menu will debut in March and feature oven-roasted and shredded chicken packed with a savory seasoning of Mexican spices including pasilla and other varieties of chilies.
The menu adds all-new ingredients including purple cabbage, pico de gallo, a white corn taco shell, and an addition to the brand's sauce packet lineup, Avocado Verde Salsa.
The menu’s five new additions include the Cantina Chicken Burrito, Cantina Chicken Taco (soft or crispy), Cantina Chicken Quesadilla and the Cantina Chicken Bowl.
As for the regular menu, the chain is still focusing on chicken. This may be to meet the consumer where they are since chicken is the protein Americans consume the most, but as Kelso pointed out on an episode of First Bite, it’s also a play at the lunch daypart, where Taco Bell feels it’s lagging.
The Cheesy Chicken Crispanada will arrive on menus February 15. It consists of chicken marinated and slow-cooked with garlic, tomato, and onion, combined with a blend of monterey pepper jack, cheddar, and mozzarella cheeses in a fried pastry dough.

More chicken! This time, it’s the national rollout of a test by Taco Bell early in 2023. The Crispy Chicken Nuggets are all-white meat chicken marinated in spiced jalapeño buttermilk before being breaded in a tortilla coating and fried.
Two new sauces are available with the chicken nuggets: Bell sauce, crafted with tomatoes, red chiles, onion, and garlic, or the hot and sweet Jalapeño Honey Mustard, featuring sweet honey mustard with a kick of jalapeño.
The Cheesy Street Chalupas feature a cheesy flatbread with a small tortilla that is stuffed with a blend of mozzarella and pepper jack cheeses and fried together, then filled with a choice of slow-roasted chicken or grilled, marinated steak, a flavorful sauce, and topped with a layer of diced onions and cilantro. Each order will come with two Cheesy Street Chalupas.
Another product that went into test last year is now heading to the menu. MTN DEW BAJA BLAST™ Gelato is infused with the iconic BAJA BLAST Tropical Lime flavor.
Building on the success of last year's Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco, Taco Bell is introducing a new version that adds inspiration from enchiladas via the Cheesy Enchilada Dipping Taco, featuring slow-roasted chicken and a layered enchilada dipping sauce.
The Cheez-It® Crunchwrap is a traditional Crunchwrap that features a real Cheez-It® Cracker 16 times the size of a normal one.
Some other new additions to the menu include:
- Dulce de Leche Cinnabon Delights, which is a new flavor of the chain’s Cinnabon Delights.
- The seasoning Tajín is coming to the chain’s menu this year in the form of Tajín Crunchy Taco, Tajín Twists, and Tajín Strawberry Freeze.
- Taco Bell is partnering with hot sauce Secret Aardvark to add its sauce, Serrabanero sauce, to its Nacho Fries. This follows another collaboration on sauces for the Nacho Fries with Truff.
- Musician Omar Apollo's family's hot sauce, Disha Hot, is a secret recipe that has been passed down for generations and it's been Omar's dream to share it with the world. This is being represented in an all-new sauce packet for customers at Taco Bell.
- If you ever missed the Choco Taco, you’re in for a treat. Taco Bell has partnered with Portland-based ice cream company Salt & Straw for an all-new Taco Bell x Salt & Straw always-crispy Ice Cream Chocolate Taco, made with hand-pressed waffle cones, fresh-made cinnamon ancho ice cream dipped in single-origin chocolate, studded with toasted brown rice and complete with sweet sauces and dips.
- One to build on the beverage trends of the time, Taco Bell partnered with Beekeeper Coffee to create the Horchata Cold Brew Latte, taking inspiration from the iconic, cinnamon-flavored Mexican beverage.
