WICHITA Kan. Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon Inc. has named Marc Buehler as chief executive of its casual-dining division, overseeing both the flagship 183-unit Lone Star Steakhouse chain and the 28-unit Texas Land & Cattle concept.
Buehler until last week was president and chief executive of Romacorp Inc., the Dallas-based parent of Tony Roma's. Earlier, he served as vice president of marketing for Tony Roma's, and previously held the same posts at Eateries Inc., parent of the Garfield's chain. He also worked in the marketing department of Applebee's International Inc.
The Lone Star CEO position had been unfilled since December, when Lone Star Funds, a private-equity group in Dallas, took the company private in a deal valued at $585 million. Lone Star Steakhouse also operates the Del Frisco's Double Eagle and Sullivan's steakhouse brands.
Buehler said both Lone Star Steakhouse and Texas Land & Cattle have “outstanding potential.” He added: “By focusing on delivering outstanding guest experiences, every day, in every restaurant, we will create an exciting future.”
