Burger King has relaunched miniature burgers and chicken sandwiches and is promoting eating them as snacks or with friends.
BK Minis are available in packs of four, eight and 12 at suggested prices of $2.99, $5.99 and $7.99.
The burgers come with dill pickles and ketchup. The breaded chicken sandwiches are served with dill pickles and mayonnaise.
The items reprise the two-pack “Burger Shots” that the Miami-based quick-service chain introduced in 2008.
“Versatility makes them the perfect snacking option for our guests to enjoy with their friends and families,” said Steve Wiborg, president, North America, of Burger King Corp., in a release.
The release suggested sharing the items when playing mini golf with a group or for mini celebrations, such as hitting a home run in little league or learning how to swim.
It also recommended taking them on mini getaways or for a mini break while relaxing with friends.
The promotion comes as afternoon snack sales decline across the foodservice industry.
Consumer research firm NPD said afternoon snacking has been dropping by 1 percent per year for the past three years. It was down by 2 percent in the second quarter ending in May after remaining flat in December, January and February.
Burger King Corp. owns or franchises 7,250 restaurants in the United States.
