McDonald’s traffic, Tom’s Watch CEO, dipping

McDonald’s traffic has plunged since its e. Coli outbreak. Data from Placer.ai show that the Chicago-based fast-food giant was generating traffic growth for much of the summer after the introduction of its $5 Meal Deal, and then it improved in October after the chain introduced a Chicken Big Mac.

Tom’s Watch Bar, a Colorado-based eatertainment concept, has named Brooks Schaden and Shannon McNiel as co-CEOs. Both are co-founders of the growing chain, along with fellow industry veterans Tom Ryan and Rick Schaden, both of whom will remain with the company as board members and active advisors.

The dipping craze is taking over menus, influenced by TikTok, Instagram and everyone’s inner child. Panera recently launched Ciabatta Dippers after watching customers dip sandwiches into soup; now the fast casual sells a chicken or beef sandwich with a dipping portion of soup.
