DENVER Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. is promoting two executives and reorganizing its regional divisions, the 670-unit fast-casual chain said Thursday.
Rex Jones, currently executive director of development, will become chief development officer on March 1. Regional director Bob Blessing will be promoted to restaurant support officer on May 1.
Chipotle also said it would divide its operating regions into five, instead of three geographic areas. The following will be promoted to oversee the new divisions: Phil Petrilli, an operations director in the Washington, D.C., area, will be promoted to regional director of the Northeast Region; Michelle Small, an operations director in the Pacific region, will be promoted to regional director in the Central region; and Bobby Shaw, an operations director in the Southeast, will take on the role of regional director for the South region. Mike Duffy will continue in his position as regional director for the Pacific region, and Gretchen Selfridge stays on as regional director for the Rocky Mountain region.
“It is unfortunate that the Restaurant Association and the chain establishments it represents would rather go to court than provide customers with the clear information they want and need. We hoped the industry would work with us to address New York City’s obesity epidemic, but it has once again decided not to.”
