Hockey stars open restaurant in Dallas

DALLAS Hockey stars Mike Modano and Brett Hull have teamed with longtime restaurateur Eddie Cervantes to open the Hully & Mo Restaurant & Tap Room north of downtown Dallas.

The 7,200-square-foot “American comfort food” restaurant opened in February. It seats 150 in the dining room and 70 in the lounge. Other partners in the venture are Tim Headington and Cliff Gonzales.

Ozzy Samano, executive chef, has created a menu of sliders, such as smoked pulled chicken and veal-shiitake meatloaf, priced from $6.95 to $12.95, and entrees such as beer-batter fish and chips with jalapeno slaw and breaded pork cutlet with mashed potatoes and green beans. Entrees range in price from $11.95 to $14.95.

Hully & Mo’s entrée salads are $6.95 to $9.95, and pizzas are offered for $13.95. Samano most recently worked at Bob’s Steak and Chophouse in Plano, Texas, and at Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse.

The sports-inspired restaurant was designed by the Duncan Design Group of Dallas and features a patio, a private dining room, a VIP leather booth to seat large groups and a curtained table that will offer privacy.
