P.F. Chang’s China Bistro Inc. promoted K.C. Moylan to president of its Pei Wei Asian Diner division, the company said Tuesday.
Moylan, who had been chief operating officer since 2007, succeeds Russell Owens, who left the division in December 2008.
Moylan will oversee operations, marketing and real estate strategies for the fast-casual concept, which had 168 units as the third quarter ended Oct. 3.
“Over the past several years, KC has successfully led the Pei Wei operations team through a transformation to improve the operating efficiency and profitability of our Pei Wei concept,” said Rick Federico, P.F. Chang’s chairman and co-chief executive.
In the company's latest quarter, Pei Wei posted a 0.8-percent increase in same-store sales, which reflected a 1.5-percent dip in traffic and a 2.3-increase in the average check
Before joining Pei Wei as a regional vice president in 2001, Moylan served as president and chief executive of Champps Americana Inc. and also worked with such restaurant companies as T.G.I. Friday’s and Peasant Restaurants.
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based P.F. Chang’s also owns the 200-unit casual-dining Bistro concept.
