ORLANDO Fla. LongHorn Steakhouse on Monday began airing new television commercials as part of its new “Discover the West in You” advertising campaign — the first for the 300-unit chain since being acquired by Darden Restaurants here a year and a half ago.
Developed by GREY New York, the ads use animated illustrations to promote the values of the American West. The first set of ads runs through April.
“This was a result of a year-long effort designed to clearly define the LongHorn brand,” said Terry Stanley, executive vice president for marketing at LongHorn. “This work enables us to uniquely position LongHorn within our industry segment and reflects Darden's commitment to our growth.”
The “Discover the West in You” campaign emphasizes simplicity, individuality and freedom through animation. The theme will soon be expanded to menu design and in-restaurant materials as well as print and outdoor advertising, the company said.
LongHorn has restaurants in 30 states.
