MINNEAPOLIS Less than two months after taking the reins as president of the Women’s Foodservice Forum, Alice Murray last week resigned her position in what was described as a mutual decision with the organization to sever the relationship.
In an e-mail communication to WFF members on Friday, chairwoman Mary O’Broin said that the organization had taken on a nationwide search to find a new president after it had become apparent during Murray’s first six weeks “that the fit wasn’t right, and we mutually decided to part ways.”
“We are confident that resuming the nationwide search process using the learning and experiences gained over the past few months will enable us secure an individual who will truly embody the culture, values and mission of the WFF,” O’Broin wrote.
Linda Pharr will resume the role of interim president, a position she held after Mary Bentley resigned from the position last year and prior to Murray’s appointment.
Murray’s appointment was announced in late July and her presidency began Aug. 1. Before that, she had been president and chief executive of Downtown Dallas Inc., a nonprofit agency charged with revitalizing and restructuring the city’s urban area.
Based in Minneapolis, the WFF is a nonprofit organization with more than 3,000 members that supports the leadership development of women in the foodservice industry.
