BOSTON Boston Restaurant Associates Inc., owner of the Polcari’s North End and Pizzeria Regina brands, has appointed foodservice veteran Robert C. Taft as chief executive.
Taft most recently served as chief executive of Caffino Inc., a double-drive-thru espresso chain based in California. Before that he was chief operating officer of fast-casual burger brand Fuddruckers Inc. He also served as president of the Dedham, Mass.-based Papa Gino’s pizza chain in the 1990s.
Taft reports to chairman Peter Salas.
Boston Restaurant Associates operates 16 restaurants, 13 of which are Pizzeria Regina locations. Last year the restaurant company agreed to a per-share buyout offer from private-equity firm Dolphin Direct Equity Partners LP and its wholly owned subsidiary Braidol Acquisition Corp. The transaction totaled about $4.9 million.
