Denny’s Corp. reported a 31-percent increase in profit Monday for the third quarter ended Sept. 25, saying efforts that focus on value and menu innovations are resonating with consumers. Adjusting for debt refinancing, impairment and other charges, net income was flat.
The family-dining chain also reported its ninth consecutive of positive systemwide same-store sales.
The Spartanburg, S.C.-based company ended the quarter with 1,686 locations, including 164 company-owned restaurants and 1,522 franchised units.
