Papa John’s International Inc. reported a 9.6-percent increase in profit Tuesday for the third quarter ended Sept. 29. The Louisville, Ky.-based pizza operator said both North American and international units showed sales gains over last year. The company owns and franchises 4,296 restaurants in the United States and 35 nations.

Result: $14.3 million, or 65 cents per share% Increase: 9.6% (from $13 million, or 55 cents per share)
