PLANO Texas Metromedia Restaurant Group has promoted Flynn Dekker to senior vice president of marketing.
Dekker continues to oversee marketing for MRG’s Steak and Ale and The Tavern brands and takes on responsibility for Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses.
Dekker succeeds Steve Welsh as vice president of marketing for Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses. Welsh resigned to pursue other opportunities.
Clay Dover, chief concept officer and executive vice president of MRG, said Dekker “was integral in marketing and launching new concepts, such as Bennigan’s Sport and 29 Degree Tavern. He has spearheaded successful campaigns for Steak and Ale as well as the upstart Tavern brands. We look forward to the talent he will bring to Ponderosa and Bonanza.”
Prior to joining MRG in 2005, Dekker was director of marketing for FedEx/Kinko’s in Dallas.
MRG, which also owns the Bennigan’s brand, has more than 700 restaurants in 16 countries.
