DALLAS Romacorp Inc., parent of the nearly 200-unit Tony Roma’s chain, said Monday that it has promoted Ken Myres to president.
Myres most recently was Romacorp's chief operating officer and executive vice president. He said the company had been operating under an “office of the president” with several executives since Marc Buehler left as president and chief executive in July 2007.
John Morgan, Romacorp’s chairman said, “During the past few years, Ken has been an integral part of the Romacorp team, and today’s announcement reflects his dedication and continuous efforts to improve company and franchise operations and promote the overall growth and strength of the Tony Roma’s brand.”
Myres said the privately held company just concluded its fiscal 2009. “The company is in the best financial shape in over 10 years,” he said. “The company just ended the year with no debt and a significant positive cash balance.”
Romacorp and its subsidiaries operate and franchise Tony Roma’s in the United States and 32 nations and territories.
