Alfajores are cookies made of shortbread sandwiched with rich dulce de leche and finished with powdered sugar. The confection is popular in Argentina and throughout South America. Cookies are also one of America’s favorite treats. In 2016, more than 60 percent of Americans reported eating cookies during any given week.
Alfajores are in the Inception stage. The cookie is considered a premium item that can be found mostly at independent restaurants.
