Cracker Barrel Old Country Store announced the appointment of Sarah Moore to the role of chief marketing officer, effective July 22.
Moore joins the restaurant company from MGM Resorts, where she was senior vice president of marketing. In that role she led initiatives for resorts including the Bellagio, ARIA, and MGM Grand. She was with that company for 16 years and has been in hospitality for nearly 20.
“As a devoted Cracker Barrel fan, I’m honored to join this iconic American brand,” she said in a statement. “From childhood road trips to more recent visits to our family in Kentucky, Cracker Barrel has always been a cherished tradition. I look forward to applying my decades of marketing expertise to share the brand’s warmth and genuine hospitality with consumers. As I join the team, my goal is to enhance the experience of our loyal guests while also introducing Cracker Barrel’s unique charm to new guests across the country.”
Cracker Barrel’s previous CMO, Jennifer Tate, left the company last August and joined CKE restaurants the next month.
Cracker Barrel has been struggling for a while, with several consecutive quarters of negative traffic and sales, and in the last year or so has launched several initiatives to turn things around. Former Taco Bell executive Julie Felss Masino was named CEO in July 2023 and has spearheaded changes including the restaurant’s first loyalty program and its largest menu revamp ever.
“Sarah’s hospitality focused leadership and deep experience evolving brands and accelerating growth across all disciplines of marketing will help us drive our strategic transformation and brand love as we reclaim our position as an industry leader,” Masino said in a statement.
Cracker Barrel has about 660 units in 44 states.
