Mooyah opts for personal kiosks with their mobile app’s new dine-in mode

Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes vice president, Natalie Anderson Liu talks about the features of the brand’s revamped app

Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes —the Plano, Texas-based 100+-unit burger chain — announced the revamp of their mobile app this month, with a restructured rewards system and new features.

Just before the pandemic, Mooyah invested in franchisee onboarding for third-party delivery and in 2020, their biggest investment was curbside delivery. Now, their biggest goal is to align all of their digital platforms.

“Our goal is to make it as easy to order from Mooyah as possible,” Anderson Liu said. “So, whether you want to come into a restaurant or you want to order online, or you want to have it delivered to you, we want there to be no friction between any of those points.”

One of the new features that Mooyah added to their modernized loyalty app is a feature called dine-in mode, which turns smartphones into personal kiosks and lets customers order their food tableside. This feature adds a post-pandemic touchless experience to in-person dining and helps to alleviate some labor pressures.

“They're able to sit right down, place their order and it will prompt them for a table number, which are all right on the table,” Anderson Liu said. “And then that fires off into the kitchen and lets the kitchen know it's a digital order but for dine in, and tells them what table to bring the food out to.”

Besides dine-in mode, Mooyah also added personalized menu suggestions and a revamped rewards system that lets customers cash in on rewards sooner.
