Wingstop Inc. is incorporating the months-old virtual Thighstop brand’s menu into its regular restaurant lineup, the company announced Wednesday.

Addison, Texas-based Wingstop in June debuted the thigh-meat offerings as a stand-alone virtual menu and a separate website, but the Thighstop.com URL now directs to Wingstop.com. Thighstop items were available for delivery and carry-out from Wingstop units.

“When launching Thighstop as a virtual brand, we knew our fans would be excited to try thighs,” said Marisa Carona, Wingstop's chief growth officer, in a statement. “The response was overwhelming, and guests wanted to enjoy both their favorite Wingstop wings and new mouthwatering thighs all at once.”

Wingstop began testing bone-in thighs on menus in seven markets in late October last year as wing prices began soaring. In an earnings call, Charlie Morrison, Wingstop’s CEO and chairman, said the parent company was looking to provide its franchise partners with a hedge against wing-price inflation.

The company said bone-in thighs and boneless, breaded Thigh Bites can be ordered naked or sauced and tossed in any of Wingstop's 11 flavors. Wingstop also offers a variety of bone-in thigh and Thigh Bites meal options, from a five-piece thighs combo to a 15-piece Bone-In Thigh Pack.

As part of its thigh-meat promotion, Wingstop is introducing a "Thigh Thursday" offer.

Guests who order at Wingstop.com or through the Wingstop app on Thursdays can add regular Thigh Bites to any order for just $4.49 or order a Thigh Bites Meal for 2 for $13.99, which includes regular boneless Thigh Bites with as many as two flavors, large fries or veggie sticks, two dips and two 20-ounce drinks.

Wingstop, founded in 1994, has more than 1,600 locations worldwide.
