Here are some of the news stories trending this week on NRN.com.
Restaurant workers and guests who hope to dine indoors in New York City will have to show proof of at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, starting Aug. 16 — though enforcement won’t begin until Sept. 13, city officials announced Tuesday.
“It’s time to see vaccination as literally necessary to living a good and full and healthy life,” Mayor Bill De Blasio said in a press conference. “We know this will encourage a lot more vaccination, we’ve seen it already. The goal here is to convince everyone that this is the time to stop the Delta variant.”
McDonald’s on Thursday announced that its latest celebrity meal partnership will be rapper Saweetie. The ‘My Type’ rapper’s meal will go on sale August 9.
The “Saweetie Meal” includes a Big Mac, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, medium fries, a medium Sprite, tangy barbecue sauce and “Saweetie and Sour Sauce” (the chain’s traditional sweet and sour sauce renamed for the performer).
