DENVER Quiznos Sub has chosen MDC Partners’ Cliff Freeman and Partners of New York to handle creative duties on its estimated $80 million account. —
The agency replaces WPP Group’s Ogilvy & Mather of Chicago, which had developed Quiznos’ TV campaign that claimed the chain had a better product than competitor Subway. —
This is the second time in just a few years that Cliff Freeman has handled creative duties for Quiznos. The agency produced a series of edgy ads for the chain starting in 2000. In 2003 one ad featured a man who had never eaten a Quiznos sub. A friend teasingly asked, “What, were you raised by wolves?” The camera then cut to a flashback of the man and baby wolves suckling on a mother wolf. —
Denver-based Quiznos has about 5,000 units worldwide. —
