DENVER Quiznos Sub chief executive Greg Brenneman is continuing to build his new executive team with the hiring of Clyde Rucker, a former communications chief at Brenneman's last charge, Burger King Inc.
Rucker is slated to join Quiznos as executive vice president and chief administrative officer on May 29, with oversight of the sandwich chain's human resources, real estate and administrative duties. He will report directly to Brenneman. Brenneman had been chief executive of BK for two years before buying an undisclosed stake in Quiznos through his TurnWorks Inc. investment company and assuming control of its management.
Rucker will play a significant role in working Quiznos' "Go Forward Plan," a strategy to improve the company's culture for franchise owners, employees, customers and the community, Brenneman said.
Brenneman has pledged to improve relations with the chain's franchisees, who own the vast majority of Quiznos more 5,000 units. At least three groups of franchisees are suing the franchisor.
Rucker joins Quiznos after 12 years with Burger King where his last job was senior vice president of global communications and external affairs. Before joining the hamburger chain, he worked with Arby's and KFC in a variety of roles, ranging from operations to new channel development.
