Shake Shack to open in Miami

NEW YORK Restaurateur Danny Meyer will open a Shake Shack next year in Miami, which will mark the popular burger stand's first location outside of New York City.

Meyer's restaurant company, Union Square Hospitality Group, said the new unit will be located along Lincoln Road, Miami's well-known pedestrian promenade. The restaurant will feature both indoor and outdoor seating.

“My colleagues and I are incredibly excited to introduce Shake Shack to Miami,” Meyer said. “We love the city’s dynamic culture and community, its strong sense of place, and we believe it is the ideal home for the next Shake Shack.”

Known for its gourmet burgers and frozen custard, Shake Shack debuted in 2004 in New York City's Madison Square Park. USHG has since opened outposts on the Upper West Wide and in Citi Field, home of the New York Mets baseball team. Another location is scheduled to open next year in the city's Nolita neighborhood, according to USHG.

USHG's portfolio of New York City restaurants also includes Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Madison Park, Tabla, Blue Smoke and The Modern.
