Domino’s Pizza 3Q net income rises 17.7%

Same-store sales increase at domestic, international units

Domino’s Pizza Inc.’s net income rose 17.7 percent in the Sept. 8-ended third quarter due to higher restaurant-level sales, net global unit growth and supply chain revenues, and a lower effective tax rate. The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based chain’s same-store sales rose a combined 5.4 percent in its 4,939-unit domestic system — including 4.6 percent at company-owned restaurants and 5.5 percent at franchised units — and increased 5 percent in its franchised international system of 5,627 units.

NET INCOME

Result: $30.6 million, or 51 cents per share
% Increase: 17.7% (from $26 million, or 43 cents per share)

REVENUE

Result: $404 million
% Increase: 6.9% (from $378.1 million)

SAME-STORE SALES

% Increase at domestic company-owned units: 4.6%


% Increase at domestic franchised units: 5.5%


% Increase at international units: 5%
