Ovation Brands Inc. has promoted Patrick Benson to the new position of chief information officer, the company said Monday.
Greer, S.C.-based Ovation, which is parent to the Ryan’s, HomeTown Buffet, Old Country Buffet, Country Buffet and Fire Mountain Buffet brands, said Benson will spearhead a number of new initiatives, including a new point-of-sale system that will debut in the fall.
Benson was most recently Ovation’s senior vice president of information technology.
Ovation chief executive Anthony Wedo said in a statement that Benson “will work hand-in-hand with teams across Ovation Brands to deliver top-notch information systems solutions for the company that will allow us to maintain a competitive edge.”
The company said Benson had been instrumental in developing a roadmap for Ovation’s technology and business applications.
“The new systems that we have incorporated at Ovation enable our management and staff to spend more time focusing on the business and guest experience,” Benson said in prepared remarks. “These new solutions provide our enterprise with the enhanced technology and control needed to better operate our business.”
Prior to Ovation, Benson has worked in various information technology roles at PepsiCo, Cadbury and Supervalu.
Ovation Brands has 334 restaurants in 35 states, consisting of 324 steak-buffet restaurants and 10 Tahoe Joe’s Famous Steakhouse restaurants.
