Little Caesars names innovation chief

Pizza brand promotes Ed Gleich to the new role

Ed_Gleich_Little_Caesar_Enterprises.jpgLittle Caesars Enterprises Inc. has promoted Edward Gleich to the new position of chief innovation officer, the company recently announced.

The Detroit-based pizza brand said Gleich, who joined the company in 2011, will oversee innovations, develop processes and evaluate resource allocation. He most recently served as chief marketing officer for the brand.

"During his seven years with Little Caesars, Ed has successfully led our global marketing function, contributing to strong sales and store-level profit growth," said David Scrivano, Little Caesars president and CEO, in a statement.

"With innovation at the forefront of the rapidly changing restaurant industry, I'm excited to see the results he'll achieve over the next several years,” Scrivano added.

Little Caesars has pioneered innovations like the Pizza Portal for customer pickup of its Reserve-N-Ready pies.

"I couldn't be more excited to build upon the company's strong foundation of innovation pioneered by our founder Mike Ilitch," Gleich said. "Little Caesars has always challenged itself to think differently to make customers' lives easier.”

In Nation’s Restaurant News’ most recent Top 200, Little Caesars ranked No. 18 with $3.7 billion in U.S. systemwide sales for the fiscal year ended December 2017. The company ended that year with about 4,300 domestic units.

Little Caesars has units in 50 states and 24 countries and territories.
