Also coming to SocialEats is K2 Restaurant’s Supertoro, a fast-casual sushi bar in partnership with SuperTrio Restaurants; as well as Adelaide, a coffee-meets-cookie bar that becomes a wine bar at night; Street Noods, with Asian-inspired street noodles; and Cada Vez, a Spanish bar snack concept.

K2 Restaurants plans to open a SocialEats food hall on the Las Vegas Strip and, in 2020, to take the concept to additional markets across the U.S.

Michael Mina has been growing food halls for some time, but this time it’s close to home.

The 11-acre plaza being built around the Golden State Warriors’ new Chase Center arena will include a yet-to-be-named food hall designed by Mina, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Scheduled to open in October, the food hall hasn’t fully taken shape, though there will be a new full-service concept by Mina included. Reports indicate there will be a Dumpling Time outlet, a local soup dumpling favorite, as well as Gott’s Roadside, a quick-service concept born in the Napa Valley and growing in the Bay Area.

Also coming will be: Nachoria, a Mexican restaurant out of Burlingame, Calif.; Mission Bay Wine Bar; and the Oakland, Calif.-based Belly and sister dessert shot Sweet Belly.

Mina’s food hall will be one part of what is shaping up to be a culinary extravaganza at Chase Center and the surrounding Thrive City mixed-use complex. Bon Appétit Management and Levy are partnering on the overall food and beverage operation at the center, which will include outlets by San Francisco business incubator La Cocina, as well as the youth-run jazz-themed supper club Old Skool Café, Oakland’s Bakesale Betty, the local Tacolicious, Sam’s Chowder House of Half Moon Bay and more.

Coming this summer in Indianapolis is The Garage, a 30,000-square-foot food hall at the $300 million, 12-acre mixed-use complex called the Bottleworks District, created in a reimagined former Coca-Cola bottling plant.

The Garage will reportedly host more than 25 food-and-beverage vendors, including La Chinita Poblana by Lettuce Entertain You alum George Munoz; the seafood-focused Blu Point Oyster Bar; the build-your-own-bowl Poké Guru; open-faced-sandwich specialist The Tartine Station; and a yet-to-be-determined concept by the Cunningham Restaurant Group.

First open in Lisbon in 2014, Time Out Market food halls started opening in the U.S. this year. First came Miami, which opened in early May, followed later that month by Time Out New York on the Brooklyn Waterfront.

The two-story Time Out New York features 21 dining spots with three full bars in about 21,000 square feet. Among them are: Israeli cuisine by Meir Adoni at NUR; signature pizzas at Juliana’s; homestyle Japanese dishes at Bessou; Thai seafood at Fish Cheeks; and American cuisine by a celebrity chef at David Burke Tavern.

Next up for Time Out Markets: Boston, then later Chicago.

Food hall developer the Galley Group Inc. has been growing around the U.S. since 2015, first with Smallman Galley and Federal Galley in Pittsburgh. The group now has food halls in Cleveland and Detroit. This summer, new locations are planned for Chicago and Minneapolis.

Scheduled to open this month in Chicago, the 12,000-square-foot Fulton Galley, as it has been named, will feature concepts like the taqueria Taco Mucho by Ron Aleman; the rotisserie concept Fairview by The Publican alum Dennis Bernard; the Italian Italianette by husband-and-wife-team Gerad Gobel and Alexis Rorabaugh; the Thai concept Pink Salt by chef Palita Sriratana and the Jewish-inspired Steingold’s Deli by Aaron Steingold.
