Boudin Bakery names Clarice Turner CEO

Former Starbucks executive to lead 28-unit chain

​Boudin Bakery has named former Starbucks Corp. executive Clarice Turner as its new CEO. 

San Francisco-based Boudin Bakery operates 28 locations throughout California, and is known for making “The original San Francisco sourdough,” which has been baked with the same “mother dough” used since 1849.

“Clarice Turner is a proven, gifted business leader who brings the perfect combination of experience and expertise to drive the future growth of Boudin SF,” Sharon B. Duvall, co-chair of Boudin Bakery, said in a statement. “Clarice’s extensive experience, combined with her strong leadership skills, is a long-awaited and much welcomed addition to the strategic leadership of Boudin.”

Turner was previously Starbucks senior vice president, food and evenings, Americas. There, she led the chain’s food business in the U.S. She also led its foray into evening service, featuring wine, beer and small plates. Turner is also a former president and chief operating officer of Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N Bake Pizza.

“I am both honored and humbled to join the Boudin team and lead one of America’s oldest and iconic brands into the future,” Turner said in a statement.
