The Wendy’s Co. has named Beverly Stallings-Johnson to the new position of chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, effective March 15, the company said Monday.
The Dublin, Ohio-based quick-service brand said Stallings-Johnson will lead the company's efforts to advance and promote diversity, equity and inclusion with employees, franchisees and suppliers.
Stallings-Johnson, left, most recently served as chief diversity officer for the City of Columbus, Ohio. Prior to her role with the City of Columbus, she spent more than 25 years at Xerox, including service as chief diversity and inclusion global compliance and policy officer.
“Core to the Wendy's values is a commitment to treat people with respect and create a workplace and community that promotes our shared ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Todd Penegor, Wendy’s CEO and president, in a statement. “Beverly will be a critical leader within the Wendy's system to help advance our journey as an employer of choice and community member.”
Stallings-Johnson said, “I welcome the opportunity to remain close to the Columbus community while also exploring how Wendy’s can tap its global reach to promote welcoming and inclusive communities and workplaces.”
Wendy’s, founded in 1969, has more than 6,800 restaurants worldwide.
