Trending this week: How Southern breakfast chain Biscuitville thrives on just one daypart

This week's top story was,  the House passing the $42 billion Restaurant Revitalization Fund replenishment. The House bill, which was coauthored by Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) would serve as a vehicle for accompanying Senate legislation, which would also help fund or extend funding for other hard-hit businesses like theaters and transportation contractors.

Also, Chick-fil-A has been named teens’ favorite fast-food chain yet again according to the annual report released by Piper Sandler. The “Taking Stock with Teens” survey listed the Atlanta-based quick-service chain as Gen Z’s favorite.

The chicken chain has once again been listed as teens’ top choice with 16% of “share of wallet,” according to the Piper Sandler metrics.

In other news, Breakfast may be the trendy daypart that more and more brands are exploring to increase their revenue (looking at you, Wendy’s). But for Biscuitville, breakfast isn’t so much a trend as it is a way of life — one that has ingrained itself into the lives of customers to its 70-plus locations.

Biscuitville CEO Kathie Niven joined Nation’s Restaurant News’ editor in chief on the most recent episode of Take-Away with Sam Oches to discuss the brand’s approach to quality and efficiency.
