Bojangles is upping its snack credentials with the introduction of the Bird Dog, a spin on the classic hot dog that features a chicken tender, pickles and sauce on a split-top bun, the company said Monday.
A spokesperson for the Charlotte, N.C.-based quick-service brand said the suggested pricing is two Bird Dogs for $5 and a two Bird Dog Combo for $7.99.
“Bo’s Bird Dogs offer a delicious and portable way to feed the whole crew — whether it’s in the car or for your kids’ sports team,” said Marshall Scarborough, Bojangles’ vice president of menu and culinary innovation, in a statement.
“It combines Bojangles’ signature flavors and ingredients into a convenient handheld package, perfect for a meal or snack on the go,” Scarborough said.
In late 2023, Technomic Ignite had forecast that consumers would increasingly gravitate toward snack items in 2024.
To celebrate the limited-time offer, Bojangles is visiting Little League and Miracle League games across its footprint with a custom-made hot dog stand and the item is available to consumers with the smartphone app.
Bojangles, founded in 1977, has about 800 restaurants in 15 states.
