Hooters has launched a new line of frozen appetizers and snacks available at the nearly 1,400 Publix stores across eight states. This marks the first time in the brand’s 41-year history that it has had a retail presence. More retail chains are expected to distribute Hooters’ retail products later this year.
Available now at Publix are BBQ smoked wings, dry rub smoked wings, Buffalo Style Boneless Wingz, and Buffalo style popcorn. The initial four products are available in-store at Publix locations, as well as via local delivery through Publix’s Instacart affiliates. The suggested retail price, ranging from 12 oz. to 16 oz., is $7.49 to $8.99.
“Whether it’s an easy meal at home, or planning food on the go, consumers now have another way to enjoy the world-famous taste of Hooters, with these new frozen appetizers and snacks,” CMO Bruce Skala said in a statement.
Through its licensed food partner Golden West Food Group, Hooters has a total of eight branded licensed products anticipated to be available by the end of this year.
The added retail channel complements Hooters’ more than 367 locations in 36 states and 18 countries. According to Technomic Ignite data, the chain finished 2023 with $867.3 million in sales. With this news, Hooters becomes the latest restaurant chain to jump over to supermarket shelves, a tactic used to generate more brand awareness, accessibility, and revenue. Other chains that have recently joined or expanded their presence in the the space include Cava, Salata, Subway, IHOP, Chick-fil-A, and Taco Bell.
