Domino’s, McDonald’s, teenagers’ favorite chains

Domino’s Pizza is seeing slower sales trends than Wall Street would like. The pizza chain reported 3% U.S. same-store sales growth for the third quarter with a tougher environment in international markets, which saw under 1% sales growth.

The Chicken Big Mac landed at U.S. McDonald’s restaurants today for a limited time. The sandwich is an attempt to tap into consumers’ growing demand for chicken, which is now as popular as beef at McDonald’s.

Teenage consumers still love Chick-fil-A and Starbucks, but they appear to love those brands a little less. The semi-annual Taking Stock with Teens survey by investment firm Piper Sandler found that consumers aged 13 to 19 love Chick-fil-A the most, but the number of teens ranking the chicken chain No. 1 dropped to 17%, compared with 21% in the spring survey.

Cracker Barrel has thrown a concession to Sardar Biglari, the activist shareholder who’s mounting a proxy fight in hopes of getting himself and two allies on the family dining chain’s board.
