HOUSTON The 120-unit Joe's Crab Shack chain said Thursday that it was expanding its seafood-focused menu to include more salads and sandwiches.
Joe’s Crab Shack Holdings Inc., which bought the chain from Landry’s Restaurants Inc. in November 2006, said the brand would also eliminate trans fats from its fare and adjust the prices and presentation of its crab dishes. In keeping with an emphasis of the concept’s beach theme, a press announcement said, several alcoholic drinks and several smoothies.
“New ownership brings new ideas, energy, and the resources,” said Michael Flanagan, the senior vice president-concept for Joe’s.
Menu additions include: pesto-chicken baguette, buffalo chicken wrap, Pacific Coast fish wrap, blackened mahi sandwich, buffalo chicken salad and an island chicken salad. The company said it would also introduce island-themed alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic smoothies.
Flanagan said, “We are working diligently to understand the needs of current and prospective customers and are testing new menu items and atmospheric enhancements that we believe will further invigorate and differentiate the Joe's Crab Shack experience.”
