China's Real Kungfu picks terminals, services provider

News

BEIJING Real Kungfu, a 200-plus-unit quick-service Chinese-food-chain, based here, has agreed to purchase 4,000 NCR Corp. RealPOS 21 point-of-sale-system terminals and to use NCR to install those terminals, related computer servers and networking equipment, the vendor said.

"We needed a global technology vendor to meet our plans for aggressive store expansion and entering overseas markets," said Cai Da Biao, executive officer of Real Kungfu. He cited NCR's "track record of offering solutions and services to a number of leading local hospitality chains in China," as well as the vendor's ability "to provide us with optimal suggestions and solutions to meet our needs in upgrading or opening new stores."

Officials of NCR, which is based in Dayton, Ohio, and has a division in China, said the three-year agreement also calls for the U.S. company to provide Real Kungfu with ongoing support services. They said the Chinese fast-food chain has plans to grow to 1,000 units by 2010.
