Just before Memorial Day, the quick-service chains kicked off grilling season with a backyard cookout on a bun: the Most American Thickburger, which features the chains’ signature third-pound or half-pound Black Angus beef patty topped with a split hot dog, which adds a smoky quality, not unlike bacon. The burger is also topped with a slice of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard and Lays Kettle Cooked Potato Chips. It’s served on the chains’ Fresh Baked Bun, reserved for premium sandwiches. The burger starts at $5.79.

New York City-based soup specialist Hale & Hearty has launched a line of Soup Chillers at all of its 33 locations. Three of the eight flavors will be available at each restaurant at any given time, at prices ranging from $3.69 to $5.29 for an 8-ounce cup. They can also be paired with a half sandwich or wrap for $7.29-$9.19.

Pictured here are the Coconut & Pineapple Gazpacho — coconut milk, cilantro, jalapeño peppers, ginger, plum tomatoes, crushed red pepper, mango, papaya, kiwi, pineapple and orange concentrate — and the Shrimp Cocktail — scallions and jicama in a sauce of tomato purée and juice, garlic, Tabasco, celery, onion, lemon juice, horseradish and Worcestershire sauce.

Also available are:

• Spring Pea soup with Mint: Peas, mint, onions, garlic, salt, white pepper, heavy cream and water
• Strawberry Rhubarb soup: Strawberries, sour cream, lime juice, sugar, ground cinnamon and butter
• Summer Peach soup: Peaches, honey, vanilla extract, cream, butter, onions and salt
• Thai Carrot soup: Carrots, coconut milk, salt, white pepper, sweet chile sauce, cream, Thai aromatics and olive oil
• Tomato Chipotle soup: Tomato juice, garlic, cucumbers, cilantro, salt, roasted red peppers, red onion, lemon juice, chipotle peppers, white pepper, sherry vinegar, tomatoes Tabasco, and
• Hale and Hearty Gazpacho: Tomato, mixed peppers, cucumbers, celery, roasted red peppers, onions, cilantro, salt, lime juice, garlic and Tabasco

The casual-dining chain is bringing back ribs for the summer, and a new barbecue sauce made with moonshine.

Slow-cooked ribs are available by the half rack, for around $12.99, and the full rack, for about $18.99. The ribs are available with a choice of sauces, including the new White Lightnin’, a sweet and slightly spicy sauce made with Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine.

New to the menu and available through early July, are beer cheese pretzels: Bavarian-style pretzels served with a creamy sauce containing a cheese blend and stout beer, priced at around $7.99.

Also new, and baseball-themed, is the Triple Play, priced at $9.99, of warm, seasoned tortilla chips with queso, salsa and guacamole.

The casual-dining chain celebrates the warm weather with new cocktails at its 31 locations, including the Green Bloody Mary, pictured, which features Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Legal Sea Food’s spicy tomatillo green Bloody Mary mix and pickled tomato.

Also on the seasonal drink list, available through September, are:

• Red Ruby Quencher: Deep Eddy Ruby Red vodka, lemon and soda
• The Islander: Plantation 3 Stars silver rum, Plantation Original Dark rum, passion fruit, pineapple and lime
• Mexican Mule: Del Maguey Vida mescal, Patrón Reposado tequila, muddled grapefruit, lime and ginger beer
• Tea Party: Deep Eddy sweet Tea vodka, Templeton Rye, lemon, honey and soda

The chain will bring back its perennial summer favorite, the Pecanberry Salad, for another year. The salad consists of mixed greens in fat-free raspberry-pecan vinaigrette topped with strawberries, blueberries, candied pecans and grilled chicken, for a suggested price of $7.99. It is available through the end of September.

The chain celebrates summer with a line of BBQ Pizzas, for which the traditional tomato sauce is replaced by sweet-and-smoky KC Masterpiece barbecue sauce. The pizzas are topped with whole-milk mozzarella cheese and a choice of chicken, steak or pork sausage, and priced at between $10 and $11. The pizzas will be available through Aug. 30.

The chain celebrates summer with an extension to its signature Chili Cheese Fries line. The standard version is fries smothered in chili and Cheddar cheese, but four other varieties are available through the end of summer.
