Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc. has promoted Hector Munoz to the newly created position of vice president and chief marketing officer-U.S., the company said Wednesday.
Formerly the Atlanta-based quick-service operator’s vice president of marketing, Munoz will lead and direct all U.S. marketing initiatives, including advertising, calendar promotional planning, long-range marketing goals, brand positioning for product innovation and core menu items, and all other marketing communications, as well as the chain’s digital strategy. He will report directly to Dick Lynch, Popeyes chief brand experience officer.
Before joining Popeyes in 2011, Munoz was at Burger King for 11 years and, prior to that, at Long John Silver’s Inc.
The appointment follows a number of executive changes at Popeyes in recent weeks. Last month, Popeyes named a new chief financial officer, and its U.S. president Ralph Bower left to become chief executive of Pei Wei Asian Diner.
Popeyes has 2,262 restaurants in the U.S., three territories and 26 foreign countries.
