Shake Shack Inc. has named Tara Comonte chief financial officer, effective in mid-June, the company said Monday.
Comonte is a 15-year international finance and operations veteran. She will take over Shake Shack’s financial operations in mid-June. She replaces Jeff Uttz, whose retirement was announced in January.
“Her breadth of experience, together with her innovative and results-oriented mindset make her the right person to lead and champion Shake Shack’s incredible growth ahead,” CEO Randy Garutti said in a statement. “I know Tara will be an outstanding addition to Shake Shack’s unique people culture, as well as helping us define and execute against our sizable growth opportunity.”
Before Shake Shack, Comonte was the chief financial and business affairs officer at Getty Images. She has also worked with marketing communications firm McCann Worldgroup, part of Interpublic Group, or IPG. She was a founding member of IPG’s media group Mediabrands.
“Shake Shack has built an incredible brand, delivered impressive expansion and growth, all while maintaining its core values,” Comonte said in a statement. “They’re just getting started, and I am fortunate to be part of the next phase of that journey.”
