KFC Global has named Alex Barsk as its new chief financial officer, reporting directly to Sabir Sami, KFC Global CEO, effective June 1.
Barsk will be responsible for leading KFC’s global finance function and ensuring growth and profitability for the business. She will also oversee KFC’s financial planning analysis and strategy functions.
She joins the company on the heels of its 30,000th global milestone opening. The company is opening a location somewhere in the world every 3.5 hours on average. In 2023, KFC opened nearly 2,7000 restaurants across 96 countries, a 10% development pace and setting a brand development record. More than 80% of unit growth came from 15 publicly traded franchisees. KFC accounts for nearly 50% of parent company Yum Brands’ divisional operating growth.
Barsk most recently served as the global chief financial officer of sister brand Pizza Hut. She joined the company in 2015 and has held leadership roles across strategy, finance, development and supply chain.
Prior to Yum, she was an engagement manager at Strategy& (formerly Booz & Company) in the company’s London and Dallas offices. She also spent several years in London with Cambridge Associates, a global investment advisory firm. Barsk holds a B.A. from Brown University and an MBA from London Business School.
