On this month’s video version of Menu Tracker, senior food and beverage editor Bret Thorn tasted some of the newest items from chains across the country including Domino’s, Shake Shack and Popeyes.
Popeyes, preparing for the influx of customers eating fish during Lent, introduced the Shrimp Tackle Box. Comprised of deep-fried shrimp and a sauce of your choice as well as a biscuit, this fish-based meal made it to Thorn’s plate. But what did he think?
Shake Shack had two items that interested Thorn: Pomegranate Basil Lemonade and the White Truffle Burger. The fast-casual chain introduced several new flavors of lemonade (and they weren’t the only ones) but it was the Pomegranate Basil that attracted Thorn as well as the new delicacy that is the white Truffle Burger, comprised of white truffle in a sauce along with frizzled onions on top of a burger patty.
Domino’s also introduced a new permanent menu item: tots. These tots are meant to travel better than French fries and Thorn tried the new Philly Cheesesteak variety.
Check out what Thorn thought of all the new menu items from chains across the country on this Menu Tracker video.
