7 Brew leapfrogs 295 spots in the Top 500 restaurant rankings

Drive-thru beverage, Korean hot pot and salad are in the Top 3 among Technomic’s biggest gainers in 2023

If foodservice were a game of Frogger, 7 Brew Drive-Thru Coffee would clearly win in 2023.

The Fayetteville, Ark.-based 7 Brew leap-frogged 295 spots — from No. 502 in 2022 to No. 207 in Technomic’s 2023 rankings — fueled by 350% growth in the number of locations.

And 7 Brew, founded in 2017, drew an investment from Blackstone Growth this past February to expand even more. Jimmy John Liautaud, founder of Jimmy John’s Sandwiches was one of the initial majority investors in 7 Brew after forming Drink House Holdings alongside Lone Star Steak House founder Jamie Coulter.

7 Brew was followed by Rockville, Md.-based K-Pot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot, which jumped 213 spots to land at No. 149 in Technomic’s 2023 rankings.

Rounding out the Top 3 of Leapfrogging brands in 2023 was Crisp & Green, which jumped 186 spots in the Technomic 2023 rankings, ending the year at No. 498. Wayzata, Minn.-based Crisp & Green, founded in 2019, had 44% sales growth in 2023, to $55 million. That earned Crisp & Green, which ended 2023 with 47 locations and growth rate of 57%, a spot among Technomic’s Top 500 New Entrants.
