Each month, Nation’s Restaurant News presents highlights of recent same-store sales results from the more than 70 public restaurant companies and divisions it tracks.
Same-store sales growth among 47 latest-quarter reporters averaged 1.4%, compared with 2.2% average growth a year earlier. Among those brands, Wingstop saw the greatest overall latest-quarter same-store sales growth, at 12.3%, while Steak ‘n Shake’s 6.5% decline marked the biggest fall. Meanwhile, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen’s U.S. system had the strongest performance among quick-service chains, and Domino’s U.S. division led the pizza pack.
Year-to-date, Chipotle was the top-growing restaurant brand at 10%, while Fuddruckers’ 8% decline marked the biggest fall. The average change was 1.1%.
