Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt has opened its first international location with the debut of a unit in Melbourne, Australia, the company said Friday.
The 116-unit chain, based in Oklahoma City, Okla., said the menu has been localized to include toppings from such Australian brands that make biscuits and chocolate bars.
Orange Leaf has a two-unit deal with Joe Rossi and Phil Lancaster, both of Melbourne, and plans to use the units there to expand further in Australia, as well as to other nations, the company said.
“Orange Leaf has been eager to bring our offering to the international market for some time, and Australia is proving to be a great first step,” Reese Travis, Orange Leaf chief executive, said. “I have extremely high expectations for this relationship and for growth throughout Australia.”
Travis’ group acquired Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt in 2010.
