Cammie Spillyards-Schaefer has joined Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in the newly created position of vice president of culinary, a company spokeswoman said Friday.
Spillyards-Schaefer will oversee the Lebanon, Tenn.-based family-dining chain’s culinary group, including menu strategy and culinary development.
She was most recently executive chef and vice president of culinary at Applebee’s, where she started in early 2016. Before that, she was vice president of research and development and innovation for Outback Steakhouse parent Bloomin’ Brands Inc.
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., Spillyards-Schaefer was also director of product development for Chili’s Grill & Bar and owned two restaurants.
As of the end of 2016, Cracker Barrel operated 639 restaurants.
