Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. chief creative and development officer Mark Crumpacker has been indicted on charges related to a high-end cocaine ring bust, according to reports in The New York Daily News on Thursday.
Chipotle executives did not respond to questions Thursday about the report. The New York District Attorney’s office could not confirm whether Crumpacker was among those who face charges because some of the alleged buyers had not yet been arraigned or were not in custody. The New York Daily News said "papers showed" the Chipotle executive was a customer.
Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. and New York City police commissioner William Bratton confirmed the indictment of three drug traffickers on multiple counts related to the sale of cocaine in bars and clubs throughout Manhattan, as well as delivering drugs to delis and Duane Reade and CVS pharmacies.
Official reports about the indictments did not include names of the alleged buyers.
The Daily News report, however, said customers of the drug ring included Crumpacker, as well as a Fox Business producer and Merrill Lynch employee, who were also indicted, although the source for that information and specific charges were not identified.
