When it comes to scoring with consumers in terms of taste, it seems to help to keep it simple. It also helps if you serve beef.
In-N-Out Burger, the top-scoring chain when it comes to the flavor of its food, has both, with a streamlined, rarely changing menu focusing on the basics, in which a hamburger taking center stage. Three of the other top 10 chains — Texas Roadhouse, Fuddruckers and Longhorn Steakhouse — also are beef-centric, although in second place is the always-popular Chick-fil-A, which also offers a simple menu, but one focused on chicken.
Rounding out the top 10 are an ice cream chain — Cold Stone Creamery — as well as the upscale, seafood-focused Bonefish Grill, and two mostly-sandwich concepts, McAlister’s Deli and Panera Bread.
