Dallas-based fast-casual concept Corner Bakery Café announced the promotion of Erin Hasselgren from chief operating officer to president of the company on Tuesday. The announcement comes nearly a year and a half after Corner Bakery Café declared bankruptcy under Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands in Feb. 2020, and a year after new ownership, Cicis parent company SSCP Management, took over the company.
Hasselgren’s new role is part of SSCP Management’s revitalization plan for Corner Bakery Café, and his responsibilities will include leading the brand’s future expansion plans while managing day-to-day direction and oversight within the company, which includes leading strategy, people, sales generation, and profit strategies.
“Erin’s experience and strategic approach to rebuilding and growing the brand makes him the perfect choice to take Corner Bakery Cafe into the future,” Chris Dharod, SSCP President and Corner Bakery Cafe CEO, said in a statement. “His dedication to our vision and exceptional leadership qualities have been evident in the outstanding results he has delivered over the past year, proving him to be an invaluable asset. We are confident that under Erin's leadership, our beloved brand will continue to thrive and grow as a leader in the restaurant industry.”
Hasselgren has more than three decades of foodservice leadership under his belt, including nearly 20 years of experience working for Corner Bakery Café in various roles. In between two stints with the company, he also held positions with Cracker Barrel, Portillo’s, and Burger King, before returning to Corner Bakery Café after SSCP Management took over the company.
“I am honored and excited to take on the role of president at Corner Bakery Cafe,” Hasselgren said in a statement. “This brand holds a special place in my heart, and I am committed to driving its growth and success. I look forward to working with our talented team to build on our strong foundation and continue delivering exceptional experiences to our guests.”
