Restaurants mark rare event with parties and special deals
The last time the U.S. saw a total solar eclipse was 1979, so Monday’s event, scheduled to occur between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., depending on where you’re located, has brought out the scientist in all of us.
Sales of eclipse glasses have skyrocketed, and hundreds of events are scheduled to take place along the “Path of Totality,” stretching from Salem, Ore., to Charleston, S.C.
Dozens of restaurants are gearing up to celebrate the rare occurrence via rooftop and patio viewing parties, and by offering special limited-time offers to guests.
