It’s never a bad time to put cheese on things, but it appears to be all the rage this week, with sister brands Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s putting breaded and fried cheese on burgers, Black Seed Bagels melting cheese on bagels and Pizza Hut putting cubes of cheese-stuffed squares on its crust.
Other pizza chains are playing with their crust, too: Papa John’s is folding theirs in half for a new sandwich line called Papadias, and Your Pie is the latest pizzeria to provide a keto-friendly, gluten-free option. Pizza My Heart, on the other hand, is replacing cheese with a vegan-substitute made from cashew milk.
Perko’s Café Grill is offering an indulgent cinnamon pancake platter and Vitality Bowls is offering a nutrient-packed but still indulgent Love Bowl with dark chocolate clusters.
Sweetgreen is the first of what is likely to be many chains to add seaweed to its menu.
Much is afoot when it comes to tacos, with City Barbeque offering smoked turkey ones, Tacodeli serving tacos with spiced braised beef, and Torchy’s Tacos offering a seafood option with coconut-battered shrimp.
Velvet Taco, in its Weekly Taco Feature, is pairing shredded pork with grilled peaches and pomegranate.
Taco Mac isn’t introducing any new tacos, but has introduced a new line of sandwiches and salads.
Quiznos is bringing back its lobster sub for the 10th year, and it’s adding a spiced Cajun option, too, and Red Lobster has a new seasonal cocktail.
